Update: It just gets worse. The reporting that is. Now The Herald chimes in with this gem:-
"The plane crash may been witnessed by a nearby boat which saw it crash........"
The illiterates at Radio Left Wing News are reporting the crash at sea of an Air New Zealand Airbus while on a training flight in France. One death is confirmed.
Here's a sample of the reporting:
".....Air New Zealand says it's trying trying to verify if the reports are true."

Sadly they're true - five New Zealanders aboard.
Adolf, since you clearly reckon it's okay to be an anal typo-Nazi, I'll take it that you're now happy to have your every mistake corrected.
In addition, its probably now a worthwhile consumption of your time to lambast Slater for his persistent misuse of apostrophe's.
"misuse of apostrophe's" Hahahahaha ........ dickhead

Harpoon, I'm glad to see my estimate of your intelligence is confirmed. It was not the typo I was after. I didn't pick that up until after the post. I expect you can't even see the real blooper, what with your second class NCEA and all.
It's a rare journo these days who knows the difference between if and whether, Adolf.
In keeping with your reporting of crap headline writers, I'll also mention Stuff, who reported earlier this morning that an an Air NZ flight had crashed into the Med, leaving it until you read the article to discover it was an acceptance test flight for a new aircraft. Just for the record Stuff, Air NZ "flights" have flight numbers, are scheduled and carry freight or passengers.
Milt, I didn't pick that one up either. So much dross in so little space!!!!!
It's hard to get past the irony of this happening on the anniversary of Erebus.
...witnessed by a nearby boat which saw it crash...
I blame the rise of Artificial Intelligence. These days it seems like we have to put up with boats that witness accidents and cars that cross the centre line or lose control on corners - I say we need to bring these rebel machines back under the control of the helpless humans trapped inside them, for all our sakes.
"Just for the record Stuff, Air NZ "flights" have flight numbers, are scheduled and carry freight or passengers."
If passengers HAD been onboard, it is STILL the aeroplane that crashed, not the flight. I have often heard "An aeroplane on a flight from x to y has crashed".

Ho ho. A cretin with an irony bypass -- not unusual, I suppose, amongst the commentariat on this blog.
